Slavery is illegal throughout the world, yet more than twenty-seven million people are still trapped in one of history’s oldest social institutions.
You must read this scjiavi, which is enlightening and terrifying, but also talks about the specific reasons these horrors have happened, and continue to happen. None of the economic incentives to end slavery could be brought to bear since the country itself is so poor and barely affects the global economy in the first place.
